Able Sail program supervisor and sailing instructors
ILRC’s Able Sail program will run once again this summer. We are looking for a program supervisor as well as sailing instructors for this summer. The program runs from the end of June through to the end of August, Tuesday through Saturday. Able Sail is a consumer-focused program designed to enable any individual, regardless of abilities, to be able to enjoy the activity of sailing. As an employee you will be expected to assist any participant with any aspect of the program. (Eg: assistance with water safety equipment, assistance with entering and exiting the boats)
While sailing experience is definitely considered an asset, any watercraft or water safety experience is considered a benefit. On-water experience is not required to apply but comfort around water is a must.
For more information on the Able Sail program itself please click here.
To apply send a message including a cover letter and resume to ablesail@ilrc.mb.ca. While all applications are appreciated only successful applicants will be contacted for an interview.
ILA Pager ON Call
We are also seeking a person willing to be an ILA on call for our backup pager system. The backup is assigned on a rotating schedule. For a weekend when you are on call you must be available from Friday at 4:30PM until Monday at 7:30AM. As a backup you will be expected to cover shifts for other ILAs who are unable to fill their shifts up to a maximum of 10 hours per weekend. Compensation for being on call is $200 plus any hours you are called in for.
A vehicle or access to rides is required as consumers are scattered throughout the city.
