Pen over typed paperworkILRC Summer Program Coordinator Position

The Independent Living Resource Centre, an innovative Centre empowering people with disabilities to develop skills, design solutions and manage their independence has  a full-time, summer position for Summer Programs Coordinator available.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: As Summer Programs Coordinator you will supervise the ongoing operation of all ILRC summer programs. This includes coordinating activities and resources to ensure quality programs are delivered to participants.

LIST OF DUTIES:

  1. Provide leadership and direction in the planning, development, implementation and promotion of ILRC summer programs.
  2. Support and supervise other staff and volunteers to ensure programs are delivered safely and professionally. This includes evaluating the delivery of program and making adjustments to delivery as required.
  3. Scheduling individuals and groups for the sailing program and ensuring that the sailing staff have schedules in a timely manner.
  4. Develops communications and relationships with individuals and organizations within the community with the goal of promoting the rights of people with disabilities.
  5. Participate in ILRC staff meetings to share feedback and insight from participants

Qualifications Required:

  1. Strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  2. Ability to work with and manage a wide range of people in a diverse community
  3. Understanding of and commitment to the Independent Living Philosophy
  4. Knowledge of community resources and opportunities available to people with disabilities
  5. Related experience, academic or human service training
  6. Familiarity with water safety and training practices;
  7. Experience working with people with disabilities in a consumer directed environment is a definite asset
