The Independent Living Resource Centre is pleased to announce this workshop, supporting the rights and freedoms of Manitobans…the ABC's of Advocacy! This exciting half-day workshop is for anyone interested in developing their self-advocacy skills. These skills can be used when addressing conflict with systems or when accessing essential benefits and services that affect your life.
Time: May 4th, 2022 at 1:00PM to 4:00PM (Half-day)
Location: This course is currently being offered as a virtual course via Zoom
Cost: FREE (Registration is Required)

Refunds and Rescheduling
- Students may reschedule their class at no charge provided 48 hours notice
- Course fees are refundable provided 24 hours notice, and carry a $25 administrative fee
- Cancellations within 24 hours, or "no shows," must re-register at full cost


Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training focuses on prevention and offers proven strategies for safely defusing anxious, hostile or violent behaviour at the earliest possible stage. Anyone who may come in contact with verbally or physically aggressive individuals will benefit from the skills and techniques learned in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.
Times: 9:00AM to 4:30PM (1 day)
Location: ILRC's DART Training Centre - 100 - 167 Lombard Ave.
Course Content
- Identifying the indicators for violent or disruptive behaviours
- Deescalating tense situations
- Intervene safely in a violent situation
- Developing respectful and humanistic approaches to crisis intervention
- Improving staff confidence and boosting morale
- Providing optimum care for individuals
PART OF ILRC'S ADAPT TRAINING PROGRAM
