What is Leisure Education?

Leisure Education (L. Ed.) is one of the many programs available at the Independent Living Resource Centre. L. Ed. is a consumer-directed program where Program Consultants work with individuals to achieve individual leisure goals. The premise of consumer control is what distinguishes the program from other adult day models in the community. Consumers gain valuable independent living skills and access to information to be able to fully participate in leisure activities in the community. Upon successful achievement of individually specified goals, consumers will graduate with a unique set of skills for further community participation.
